What is Silhouette Connect ?
Silhouette Connect is a plug-in that allows you to send designs directly from Adobe Illustrator® or CorelDRAW® to your Silhouette cutting machine, without needing to export files into Silhouette Studio.
What software does Silhouette Connect work with ?
Silhouette Connect supports Adobe Illustrator (CS4–CS6, and CC) and CorelDRAW (X4–X8, 2017–2021). Compatible on both Windows and macOS systems.
What Silhouette machines are compatible with Connect ?
Silhouette Connect works with all current Silhouette cutting machines, including the Silhouette Cameo®, Portrait®, and Curio®.
Does Silhouette Connect replace Silhouette Studio ?
No, Silhouette Connect is an optional plug-in for those who prefer working in Illustrator or CorelDRAW. Silhouette Studio is still the primary software for most users and is required for software updates and library access.
Is an internet connection required to use Silhouette Connect ?
No, once installed and activated, Silhouette Connect does not require an internet connection to function, making it ideal for offline or on-the-go workflows.
Is Silhouette Connect a subscription ?
No. Silhouette Connect is a one-time purchase and does not require a subscription or recurring payment.
Can I use Silhouette Connect on more than one computer ?
Yes. You can install Silhouette Connect on up to three computers, but only one can be active at a time per license. You can deactivate and transfer as needed.
Where can I purchase and download Silhouette Connect ?
Silhouette Connect is available for purchase and download directly from the Silhouette America website, under the software section.
How do I install and activate Silhouette Connect ?
After purchase, download the installer from your Silhouette account. Open the program, enter your license key when prompted, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.
Does Silhouette Connect support SVG or DXF files ?
Silhouette Connect works within Illustrator or CorelDRAW, so any file format those programs support (including SVG and DXF) will function normally. There's no need to convert before cutting.
