Adding images to use with the Fill Pattern feature (Designer Edition)
The Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition unlocks the ability to add your own images and patterns to use with the Fill Pattern feature.
This is different from simply opening an image into the program and then creating cut lines around the desired pattern. The Fill Pattern options allow users to mirror patterns, rotate, scale, pan the pattern around within the filled image, and adjust the pattern's level of transparency. These advanced features for manipulating patterns can be found in the Advanced Options in the Fill Pattern panel.
To add your own patterns with the Designer Edition, you may do the following:
Open the Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition program
Go to the library
Toggle out of the Silhouette software and locate the image file you wish to import on your computer
Drag the image into the My Own Designs folder
Go to the option to view your library and drawing area side-by-side (icon found under the library icon on the left-hand side of the screen)
As you have a cut line image on your screen you wish to fill, drag the imported image onto the shape in question
Once you have the shape filled with your desired pattern, you may go to the Fill Pattern options and visit the Advanced Options if there are further adjustments you desire to make
Again, this ability to use imported images as fill patterns is only available when running the Designer Edition version. It also only applies to raster type images (such as JPG, BMP, and PNG files).
