Manipulating images (Removing/Adjusting portions)

printer friendly

Some images are offered as a collection or various image parts or have unwanted design aspects that you may wish to remove or otherwise adjust. If there are multiple image parts to a cut line design, they can be disassembled and manipulated. This, however, does not work with print & cut designs where select portions of the printed portion are desired to be adjusted. The print portion of such images are set and cannot be manipulated. The following only pertains to adjusting cut line portions of images.

The following steps can be taken to make adjustments to an image:

  1. Select the image after it has been sized as desired
  2. Right-click on the image
  3. Select Ungroup
NOTE: Some images are compound path images and instead require you to select "Release Compound Path", which will achieve the same end
  4. Click outside of the image so that it is no longer selected
  5. Click on any desired line in the image you wish to alter or move
NOTE: You may wish to Zoom In if you are having problems selecting the desired image portion
  6. With the image un-grouped, you may now delete, move, or rotate the selected part of the image individually as desired.

If you wish to actually manipulate a line portion (aside from simply removing, moving, or resizing it), you may additionally do the following:

  1. Double-click on an individual line set (or click on the "Edit Points" tool)
  2. Use the Point Editing tools to manipulate the line to make further specific adjustments to the line itself

When finished making any adjustments, you may do the following:

  1. Re-select all image portions together
  2. Right-click
  3. Select to Group the image together

This will allow the image to be moved around or resized altogether if additional adjustments are desired.
