Silhouette America provides a variety of tools and products which compliment education and classroom settings.
The Silhouette Portrait is the perfect classroom tool for precision cutting and fabrication of 3D models made from basic 2D printed images. The Portrait model is sized perfectly with an 8 1/2 inch width opening to accommodate common Letter and A4 size materials, such as standard printer paper.
Also perfect for classroom settings is our easy-to-use Silhouette ModelMaker software program. This optional software package allows you to design 3D objects on screen, which are automatically converted into 2D flat 'nets' (or unfolded 3D models). With the Silhouette machine's Print & Cut technology, you can print out any 3D design you've created to a regular printer, and then feed it into the Silhouette to cut around the model's printed contour. With the Silhouette machine doing all the heavy lifting to perform precision cutting and creating fold lines, students are left to engage with assembling the cut -out models, learning through hands-on application of designing and assembling models.
