Section 3: Selecting a Design
Once the Silhouette is set up, it's ready to start cutting. We're going to start by having you select an image from your library.
To do this, you will first need to open your library by clicking on the button. It is located on the lower left-hand side of the software screen.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If you can't see this button, your screen resolution is too low. You may find a resolution through our online trouble-shooting by clicking here.
When your library has been loaded, though you may have different images included in your library according to the software version installed, it should look similar to the window below:
You may select any design and either click on the "Open Design" button located at the bottom of the library window, or double-click to open it. For this example, we are selecting the "Heart_0016".
After selecting a design, you will initially see just a blank blue box which will move with your mouse until you left-click to drop the image on the screen. Your design, once placed onto your screen, will be selected, as seen below:
Designs that have multiple lines will have a blue box around them as seen in the image above. Some simple shapes that only have a single line (such as the "Diamond_0008") will not have a surrounding blue box, though they will appear blue and have corners and arrows to show they are being selected.
